Ushaka
It was a public holiday today, Freedom day, so no work! Miles and I each had one thing we wanted to get from the village craft stands on the beach front, so we headed there first. Then, we went to Ushaka! We had a lot of fun. We went down the lazy river three times in a tube first (: it was really nice. On this path way, it takes you through this rusted ship and the sides of the ship that surround the river were glass aquariums. They had tons of fish and four great white sharks in them. It was neat and scary at the same time! We went down two tube slides, and then a bunch of water slides. We both haven’t done this for years, so it was kind of fun. Some of the slides were kind of serious too—one of the them had me flying down it extremely fast, and at what happened to be the end of the slide(I had no idea, everything happened too fast) was particularly slippery, and I flew up to the top edge of the slide….well…there was no more slide at that point, so I did like a three-sixty in the air and landed in the water. Miles and some other ‘sliders’ got to witness my spectacle and were peeing their pants at me. Of course where I landed in the water also happened to have a strong pull towards the underside of the tube, and first of all, I don’t weigh much so it’s easy for me to get swept away by such things, AND I was half shocked and half laughing and still not stably touching the ground so I was heading towards the abyss of under the slide. This area was behind the stairs and railing out of the pool; where you aren’t really supposed to be, so Miles had to reach over the bar and grab my hand to pull me towards the stairs so that I wouldn’t be gone forever. It took me a while to get myself back together after that one! We found a tube slide that went straight into the lazy river—of course we only found it after we had already been in it three times. We decided to go down it anyways. When we got into the river, we didn’t want to go all the way down it again, so we jumped out of the tube and tried to tread our way to the shallow exit of the river, just past the tube slide entrance. The current was SO strong! Miles could barely walk against it, so you can imagine the challenge I was facing. He again had to grab my hand and drag me along with him because I was headed down the river backwards... ahh I so don’t need a man with me at all times (: I swear. Miles went down the second biggest slide at the park; it practically went straight down. I just can’t do things like that so I decided to watch instead (: I was hoping he would do something silly since he got to laugh at me all day long. We had a very fun time. We also got passes to the sea world part of the park, so we went to check that out. We go to see sting rays being fed, which was really cool. There were tons of them, and they would all come up to these rocks by the surface of the water in the same exact pathway for some reason. How strange is that? They would flap the side of their bodies above the water as they made their way up, and when the zoo keeper would put a piece of fish (I think) in the water for one to eat, they would put their whole hand inside its mouth! You could see the creature chomping down like an old man with no teeth; its whole head would bob up and down. It must feel so weird to put your hand all the way into that things mouth like that. We also saw penguins (there were a ton of them), seals, and dolphins (I know you’re jealous mom ;).
